Two-hand Hangtime

Problem selection:

At first, select problems that are low angle and have large holds or lots of holds. This drill gets hard extremely fast if the wall isn’t vertical or slab, so start humbly.

This is usually a warmup drill, so select problems accordingly.

Focus:

The idea is to always move both hands at the same time. However, this is not a power drill. The goal is twofold:

1) to find stable positions, which helps minimize the change of center of mass during each move

2) to practice deadpointing – upwards, laterally, as well as closer/further from the wall

If you aren’t finding stable positions, add more footholds or use lower angle terrain

Lateral movement will be the most risky, while directly vertical movement will feel the most straightforward.

Combination:

This is a general session and can be combined with any session. Perform after warming up and before any conditioning.
