Low Gear Repeats

Problem selection:

For this drill, you will repeat gym problems or board problems in a “Low Gear” style. Go watch the video on that drill if unfamiliar.

Select problems that are quite easy for you, so that you can maintain full tension and move slowly. Even though you will follow the handholds from one problem, your plan may specify to use all feet so that you can maintain stability and body tension throughout each climb.

Climbing:

Move deliberately and slowly as much as possible. Try to choose problems to avoid cutting loose or jumping, but the occasional deadpoint is fine as long as you shift back to low gear.

Rest between reps until recovered, at least 2-3 minutes.

Combination:

This is a general session and can be combined with any session. Perform after warming up and before any conditioning.
