Board Ladder A

Problem selection:

4 problems Working -3 grades 1 try each
3 problems Working -2 grades 2 tries each
2 problems Working -1 grade 3 tries each

“Working grade” should be the hardest grade you can consistently climb on your board of choice in a session.

e.g. if your consistent working grade on the board was V7, in order your session would be:

  1. Four V4s, one try each
  2. Three V5s, two tries each
  3. Two V6s, three tries each

It’s OK if the grades aren’t dead on; on the Moonboard, for instance, tier 1 might be easier 6B+ and tier 2 might be harder 6B+. Problems that are rated harder by the community or less frequently repeated are usually harder. Use your judgment.

Climbing:

Rest 1-2 minutes between problems. Rest 3-5 minutes between ladder rungs.

Focus:

Try to use a mix of new problems, and familiar ones. Focus on the quality of your movement, and don’t stress sending. You can always come back to problems later. The way you move on the problem is what matters the most.

This is a high-intensity session. You are expected to fail some.

Combination:

This is a general session and can be combined with any session. Perform after warming up and before any conditioning.
